RAGDOLL CATS

We have had purebred Ragdoll Cats for a few years now, they are simply the greatest family cats you can have (we may be a little biased of course!)

If you are new to the Ragdoll then let me give you a few basic facts regarding this beautiful breed, but be warned once you've had a ragdoll you can never go back!

BASIC RAGDOLL FACTS

  • The Ragdoll breed was developed in the USA approximately 50 years ago amist a barrage of controversy and strange claims that hindered the popularity of the breed at first.

  • Ragdolls are medium to long coated with sparkling blue eyes.

  • They come in a range of pointed colours from seal, chocolate, blue, red or flame, lilac, cream, tabby point etc with the most common being the seal point with or without white markings, bi-coloured, blazed and with mittens.

  • The ragdoll coat does and should lack the dense undercoat like that of the persian so does tend not to matt and is of far less maintenance than that of the persian. Our ragdolls are brushed once a week to remove loose hair and keep their coat in great condition.

  • The ragdoll is a medium to large breed, heavy boned with large rectangular body and long tail. Most ragdolls weigh between 4.5-9 kilograms, are slow maturing with the males being in most cases markedly larger than the females.

  • The ragdoll is best suited as an indoor cat, it is way too precious to loose or to have stolen and we have found that they tend to show little to no fear of other animals, people or machinery.

  • The best thing about these cats is undoubtably their natures, they love human company, nice big soft beds, sleeping flat on their backs, accomodating laps and cuddles and tend to retain kitten like qualities their entire lives. They are the breed that is quite often described as being 'like a dog in a cats coat', we quite often find ourselves being followed around the house by a pack of ragdolls.

 BREEDING

  • Each year we have a limited number of litters available with male kittens priced from $400 - $550 and females priced from $450 - $600.

  • Our kittens are ready for delivery from 10-12 weeks of age, are reared indoors, will be litter trained and well socialised with both adults and children.

  • They will be wormed, flea treated, vet checked and will have had their first vaccination with their vaccination card/certificate supplied with your kitten.
